369 AC Installation Contractors in Kansas City, MO

Kansas City's continental climate brings 42 days above 90°F in humid summers and winters dropping to 20°F, pushing HVAC systems through wide temperature swings on both ends of the calendar. Cooling loads are serious from June through August, and any new AC installation needs to account for the high heat and humidity combination that characterizes the region. The ac-installation market has 35 contractors averaging 4.7 stars across 24,721 reviews.

AC installation costs range from $168 for a window unit to $13,440 for central AC replacement with existing ductwork. Ductless mini-splits run $2,240–$8,960 per zone — common for Kansas City homes doing room additions or converting from radiator heat. Missouri has no statewide HVAC license — licensing requirements vary by municipality, so verify local credentials and pull permits through the appropriate city or county office.

A.B. May's long-tenured customers — some citing 10–17 years of service — consistently praise honest, non-pushy technicians who explain problems clearly. Buckner's 1,524 reviews stand out for system knowledge depth, particularly around geothermal and heat pump options that most Kansas City contractors don't discuss with confidence. Midwest Heating Cooling's 1,326 reviews at 4.9 stars describe service that customers call the best they've ever received, with consistent on-time arrivals and clear communication from first contact through installation.
