40 Commercial HVAC Contractors in Reno, NV

Reno's 70°F+ seasonal temperature range creates real operational risk for commercial buildings — a rooftop unit failure in peak summer or a heating breakdown in a 22°F January puts both employees and inventory at risk. The commercial HVAC Reno market is smaller than the residential side, with 9 contractors and an average rating of 4.6 across nearly 1,800 reviews. Four of the nine offer 24/7 coverage, which matters when a system goes down mid-shift.

Annual maintenance per rooftop unit runs $550–$2,200. Service contracts for small businesses under 5,000 sqft typically land between $1,100 and $5,500 per year, while mid-size facilities (5,000–25,000 sqft) run $3,850–$11,000. For larger projects, costs can reach $88,000. All commercial contractors must hold the C-21 license from the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB).

Legacy Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical draws strong reviews for multi-unit replacements completed in tight timeframes. Hawthorne Plumbing, Heating & Cooling is frequently mentioned with specific technician names — Anthony, Chris, Josh, and Ralph — for detailed diagnostics and honest recommendations, though some reviews flag scheduling inconsistencies. Tru Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning is cited most vividly for emergency responsiveness: reviewers describe technicians driving up Mt. Rose in a blizzard with equipment, making it the standout story in local commercial emergency coverage.
