89 Commercial HVAC Contractors in Columbus, OH

Columbus has grown into a significant Midwest commercial hub — from distribution centers along I-70 to dense mixed-use development near Short North and the university district. The city's humid continental climate, with 85°F humid summers and January lows below 22°F, puts sustained pressure on commercial HVAC systems that run year-round. Twelve commercial-focused contractors serve the metro, averaging 4.7 stars across more than 20,600 reviews, with 11 offering 24/7 coverage.

Annual maintenance contracts for commercial rooftop units run $500–$2,000 per unit; small-business contracts under 5,000 sq ft typically cost $1,000–$5,000 annually; mid-size facilities (5,000–25,000 sq ft) average $3,500–$10,000 per year. Ohio requires a separate state-issued commercial HVAC license through the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board — distinct from the residential credential — so verifying commercial-class licensure before signing a service agreement is important.

Atlas Butler, with nearly 8,000 reviews at 4.7 stars, handles both commercial and residential accounts; Tyler Landis and Karon Williams draw consistent praise for methodical work. Fire & Ice stands out for weather-event responsiveness — customers describe emergency calls during Ohio winter storms being answered promptly. Logan Services technicians earn specific commendation for communicating about issues discovered mid-job rather than completing work silently and flagging problems later.
