164 Emergency HVAC Contractors in Portland, OR

Emergency HVAC in Portland addresses a market where the heating emergencies are more common than cooling historically, but rising summer temperatures are changing that balance. Portland winters drop to 35°F January lows — cold enough that a furnace failure needs same-day response — and recent 100°F+ heat events have created new summer emergency demand. Thirty contractors offer 24/7 coverage at a 4.5 average from 17,259 reviews.

After-hours weekday calls run $143 to $285 above standard repair costs. Weekend service runs $166 to $309, and holiday dispatches reach $214 to $428 in surcharges before parts and labor are added. Oregon's CCB registration and Limited Journeyman HVR license are required for emergency work, including refrigerant handling — the surcharge does not exempt contractors from licensing requirements.

Sunset Heating & Cooling at 4.8, with Bryan and Zach earning consistent customer mentions, demonstrates the team consistency that matters when emergency dispatch is unpredictable. Cornel's at 4.9 draws credit for Juan and Kevin's efficient execution on high-efficiency equipment under time pressure. Sun Glow at 4.9 earns praise for Ryan's calm, no-oversell communication during stressful calls and Jarrod Williams's thorough handling of new-homeowner system concerns — the kind of approach that retains customers after the emergency is resolved.
