77 AC Replacement Contractors in Columbia, SC

Columbia’s long, humid summers push cooling systems harder than in much of South Carolina, with average highs near 93°F and about 65 days above 90°F each year. That intensity explains steady demand for ac-replacement Columbia services: 18 contractors serve the area, averaging a 4.6 rating across 8,196 reviews, and eight firms advertise 24/7 availability to respond during heat waves.

Specific line-item costs for top replacement components weren’t provided here, but homeowners should expect pricing to reflect capacity, efficiency, and ductwork work required; labor and permits also affect totals. South Carolina law requires HVAC contractors to hold a Mechanical Contractor (Group 2 — HVAC) license from the Contractor’s Licensing Board (CLB), so verifying that credential can prevent surprises and ensure installations meet code.

Customer highlight details were not included in the dataset, so review patterns become the guide: look for consistently mentioned punctuality, clear estimates, and post-installation support across reviews. Prioritize contractors that document warranties and provide load calculations, confirm Group 2 licensing, and offer emergency response if nights or weekends are critical during summer peaks.
