44 Commercial HVAC Contractors in Columbia, SC

Columbia's climate — 93°F summer highs with high humidity — creates significant cooling loads for commercial buildings, making reliable HVAC systems a real operating cost issue rather than a background concern. The commercial segment here is smaller, with 5 contractors averaging 4.6 stars from nearly 1,800 reviews, and 3 providing 24/7 coverage for facilities that can't afford extended downtime.

Costs scale with scope: annual maintenance per rooftop unit typically runs $2–$80,000 depending on system size and contract structure. A small-business maintenance contract under 5,000 square feet is generally much closer to the low end, while mid-size facilities from 5,000 to 25,000 square feet see higher contract pricing. All commercial HVAC work in South Carolina requires the Mechanical Contractor (Group 2 — HVAC) license from the SC Contractor's Licensing Board.
